It felt like we weren’t going to be able to top the last two days we had here at the Disneyland resort in Anaheim, CA… so we didn’t try.

This day was simply about enjoying the atmosphere that is one of the most magical places on Earth and catching the last couple things that we weren’t able to do. Things on our list included riding Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Matterhorn Mountain, and Rise of the Resistance (yes, again, lol). I also wanted to see the holiday parade and maybe catch the fireworks.

We started off at Space Mountain while I got the lightning lane pass for Big Thunder Mountain, but our day didn’t quite go as smoothly as we thought.

Big Thunder Mountain and Matterhorn Mountain kept breaking down and it was always at the time our lightning lane passes were for. However, we didn’t let it get us down. In the meantime, we went to get on other rides. It started with Star Tours, then Haunted Mansion Holiday again, and finally Rise of the Resistance.

Needing a break from the faster pace ride (and from walking around so much), it was time to get on a peaceful ride: the Disneyland Railway. We ended up riding it around the park twice to get a break from the fast pace we had incidentally set ourselves on. The views on this day were beautiful. It gave us a real chance to enjoy the atmosphere of the park without all the walking.

We did finally get on Big Thunder and Matterhorn as they went back online throughout the afternoon. Thanks to the hubby, we even got a great viewing spot for the parade. Which we enjoyed while eating some popcorn.

An unexpected part of our day was finally wandering into Toon Town and getting on the new ride Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. It was very cute and quite a bit of fun. The queue was really great and filled with fun little plaques that had some great cheesy jokes on them.

Our day was beginning to wind down and we were faced with how late we wanted to stay on our last day and what to do with the time we had left there. It was a pretty easy discussion. It was decided that we had made the most of our three days there and after our last ride of the night (Big Thunder), it was time to get a popcorn bucket that I had been eyeing since our first day in the park, the Taun Taun bucket in Galaxy’s Edge.

With the popcorn bucket acquired (plus the chocolate popcorn it came with), we made our way out of the park. The crowds were lined up for the Castling lighting and fireworks, but we were able to make our way to the front with the big Christmas tree. It was there, that we took our last picture inside the park for this trip with the tree and Main Street in the background. I believe it’ll be our holiday card this year.

The three days we had in the park were magical and lived up to how we were hoping the trip was going to happen. From the rides we wanted to go on, to the food we ate, and finally the atmosphere we enjoyed. I’m excited for the next time we are able to return to the park, perhaps not during the holiday season so we can have a different experience.

Thanks for joining me on this journey, until next time, safe exploring everyone!
